The black star is a black soulgem that never breaks, it can be used over and over again. This animating force can be contained within a soul gem, if the soul gem has the capacity. This bug is fixed by version 2.0.1 of the Unofficial Skyrim Patch. in that you can capture multiple souls inside the star, but every souls you capture, even petty ones, turn into grand souls inside the star. 3x Grand Souls Gems (Filled) The Daedra heart and the 3 filled gems are required to overpower the current magic flow of the star to align it for White or Black souls. MfG Treiv (After giving all of my gems, save for The Black Star to my follower.) I can't overwrite it, empty it or anything. In this video I show you where and who to buy Daedra hearts and black soul gems from. The black Star : Unlimited souls ? Pretty much the only reliable greater soul is Mammoths but they aren't entirely plentiful or fast spawning.
